Things to love Thursday #1 - Fabric Flower Embellishments

.

I'm loving the fabric flower look that crafters are using to accessorize their projects.  And who doesn't have old t-shirts or fabric scraps laying around that would make perfect flowers?  You can glue these to almost anything to add a little instant pretty.  I made these flowers by cutting up two old t-shirts into 2-3 inch strips, then twisting and rolling.  I used pins to hold them together, and you'll want to glue it in a few spots after you're done to hold it in place, or spray it with fabric stiffener.  The looser you twist, the easier it is to handle.  Mine aren't perfect, but I like things like that!

I picked up the box off the Joann's clearance rack for $2.50.

It's cute, painted, and distressed!  I just need to add a little something to dress her up...

And voila, we have a cute cottage box for my hand towels!  Here's some other adorable ideas from around the blogosphere:
